Our spring club competition starts on Thursday 15 October and runs for six weeks. This year we're running three divisions for the first time, so players at every stage of their pickleball journey can enjoy friendly competition against others of a similar standard.
We need three more players
Our third division is for players who are still building their game, whether you've only recently picked up a paddle or you've been playing for a while and want competition at a comfortable level. We're just three players short of a full division. If you've been thinking about giving the comp a go, now's the perfect time. Getting those last few spots filled means every division can be an even, enjoyable contest.
Floaters welcome too
If you can't commit to all six weeks, register as a floater. Floaters fill in on nights when a team member can't make it, which is a great way to get a taste of competition without the full commitment. We already have some floaters but are happy to take more.
How it works
Players are placed in a division with others of similar ability and grouped into teams of three. Each Thursday night, your team plays one round of the round robin against another team. Doubles pairs rotate through the evening, so every player gets four games a night. The competition wraps up with medal matches at the end of the season.
It's not a tournament and nobody gets knocked out. It's a relaxed, social way to build confidence, sharpen your skills and get a feel for playing with a little more on the line. Everyone comes out of it a better player.
How to register
The competition is open to financial club members. Registration on OpenSports has now closed, but there's still time to join. If you'd like to play or register as a floater, please contact our competition committee, Macca or Steve W, who can also help with any additions or changes to existing registrations. Teams are being finalised before the first night on 15 October, so please get in touch soon.
